The ”Ripple Effect” - RISE’s 10-Year Anniversary

RISE spun out of Probation 10 years ago and celebrated in style at the Wellcome Collection in Euston. On the 6^th February 2025, shareholders, staff, and guest speakers joined to commemorate past achievements, highlight special members, and most importantly, look towards our future – to transform more lives.

The theme of this anniversary was The “Ripple-Effect – The Reach of our Work.” The day began with shareholders and staff gathering to hear opening comments from Kuljit Sandhu, CEO, and John Beckford, RISE Chair. Guest speakers included Mark Simms, CEO of P3, Jim Barton, Executive Director of HMPPS, Andy Champness, RISE Non-Executive Director, Peter Jakobs, Clinical Psychologist and Family Therapist, and Nicole Westmarland who spoke about 10 years of Project Mirabal. We were also delighted to hear two poems delivered by Glenn Charles, a former DA practitioner, and Lady Unchained.

Those at the event were also shown a video highlighting RISE’s 10 years, and our vision for the future. As part of our work, a video from a CAPVA Service User’s parent was also shown to present our work and the impact it has upon real lives. Shahla Ejaz and one of her service users also spoke regarding the CIFA programme and how it changed his and his families’ lives. In order to mark the work we do, Elaine Knibbs, Employee Director and Service Manager presented on the “Power of Early Intervention.”

This was an incredibly positive and celebratory day to highlight special members with Stakeholder Recognition Awards. It was a special day to commemorate 10 years of transforming lives and looking to our future.

In the afternoon, RISE staff met to reflect on our journey, vision, and future. Charlotte Griffiths and Kelly McDonagh went over Operation Focus and Priorities and Elaine Knibbs, Eoin Gorman, and Shahla Ejaz explained our Employee Council. We had a Staff Recognition awards, with the Out of Court Resolution Team winning the Team Award. We rounded off the RISE 10 Year Anniversary with a team quiz which was a lovely end to a special day.
